Hi friends of Moto.it today we are here in Tenerife to show you the new Yamaha Tracer 700. We have already shown it at Eicma but today we have the opportunity to better explain all the details. This bike has been designed, projected and assembled in Italy. You can see the Italian style on this aggressive front with led lights which distinguishes it from the Tracer 900. This bike is a sport Touring with 17″ wheels both on the front and rear. It has 120/70/17 tyres on the front and 180/55/17 on the rear. So a new front, new air conveyers, new 6cm adjustable windshield and new hand guards with led turn signals. There is also a bar where you can attach your gps or smartphone. There’s a new exhaust for this euro 5 CP2 engine (which is the same of the Tenerè 700). This bike has 54 kWatt with 73,5 cv at 8750 rpm and the maximum torque is 68Nm at 6500 rpm. There is always the steel frame with a parallel CP2 twin cylinders engine. On the rear there’s a 60mm longer aluminum swingarm with these holes to lighten it. Here there’s the tail with a bigger spur gear to increase the sprint of the aceleration. The seat is new. There’s a new paddle on the passenger’s position. The seat is really comfortable also for the passenger because is well-padded. There are handles and also a padded rubber levers. Yamaha says this bike has been created only for short trips.. but I think is really perfect for longer trips. The seat is 83 cm and is narrower of 1 cm. The new handlebar is larger of 34mm. This allows you to better manage the bike on the curves and direction changes. The new LCD monitor is really redeable. The equipments is complete: we have the external temperature, the engine temperature, comsumptions , 2 trips and the counter gears. The tachometer is perfectly redeable. The braking lever is adjustable while the clutch one has a regulator. The buttons are really good and this is the black button for the monitor. This bike costs 8499 €. An important thing is the new 41mm Kayaba fork. Here there are the adjustments on these orange caps for the hydraulic return and the preload. This bike is really fun. But now let’s test it on road! Guys now we are on road!! I think that the new larger handlebar allows you to better manage the front during direction changes and the curves. So approved very much! Some readers and Tracer’s owners claimed us the width of the seat, but I can assure you that the new narrower seat is really comfortable. The windshield protects quite well from the air. You can easily manage it with one hand. The passenger seat is really good and padded. I think this bike can be used not only on the city but also for longer trips. In the city is very useful because is light with its 178 kg and 196 with fuel. The equipment is good and the legibility really excellent because there’s a strong contrast of black and white. The numbers are really big! The only thing I can say it that if you are very tall you have to lower your sight on the monitor. The buttons are really excellent on the handlebar. The euro 5 engine is very good! There aren’t traction control and ride by wire, but with this torque and the dry asphalt you don’t need it. on the wet asphalt you have to be careful but don’t worry.! The vibrations are really reduced. There isn’t the quickshifter but this Yamaha gearshift works very good. Let’see the aceleration! The braking system with double discs is really good. Of course is not a braking system like a R6 but for this sport touring bike is really powerful. The sound of the exhaust is really beautiful! About suspensions.. I think this Kayaba fork works really good above all you can adjust it according where you want to go. It works also on bumpy ground. While sometimes the swingarm reacts sharply on bumpy road. I like very much this Kayaba fork. now let’s see the braking system.. The ABS is inserted because I’m braking very strong. But the fork has no decompose the bike’s balance. On mixed tracks this Tracer 700 gives its best. I think Yamaha has created an original bike for the design, with a good engine and a reviewed cyciling. But now let’s finish with the advantages and the flaws. About the advantages we have to remind: the CP2 euro 5 engine which is excellent for the aceleration and the consumptions (almost 25 km/l). The cycling with a 178 kg and 196 with the fuel (17 lt). The adjustable Kayaba fork. You have caps where you can adjust the hydraulic return and the preload. The new seat: narrower and well-padded. About the flaws: I must say the windshield. You can easily adjust it but if you are taller than 1.80mt you are repaired not so well . So for this reason Yamaha has created an increased whidshield on the optionals. Another flaws is the lack of traction control because even if the engine is very soft on mixed track.. it can be useful on wet asphalt on the city. We also must say that the traction control is not present on all the medium engine bikes. So now let’s comment here below and remind: protections, back protection and be careful! Bye!
