UWCSEA's extra curricular Drama Programme: Much Ado About Nothing

hi I'm Ethan Swift's and I'm playing Benedict in this year's production of much ado about nothing my name is veena McCool and I play Beatrice I'm inste and I'm doing backstage with makeup and costumes my name is Nick grumbling and I'm playing Don Pedro I do it because I love it I mean more than anything this is why I mean I do I do plays every year as much as I can because I love doing it and so having an opportune like this is special it's a really fun like it's I've got to know a lot of new people and it's just I don't know it's just generally nice to be back say I didn't see them all be really happy and I'm gonna kind of like be like yeah do it guys you can do it kind of person and it's just I don't know I feel like yesterday I was I'm surprised obviously it was quite well advertised because I'm in GCSE drama so all the teachers were kind of promoting it and saying look everyone should go try out and we had our first read-through and then after the first rate there was actually a school holiday so it was like a big gap between meeting the cast and sort of breaking the ice and then actually getting started rehearsing and then you get closer to the night and you have your technicals to address and if you're nervous terrified but you feel excited as well and then once you go to the opening nights where the nerves are flying about you get on stage you do your thing and afterwards it's like one of the most rewarding experiences you can get having just a school where you just do academics you know eight hours a day and then go home that's just that's not really education I think I think it's doing things that lunch or doing these shows that really just give my you know my time at school life and character it makes it fun makes me want to come to school every day I think the juiciest II drama curriculum is great I'm a GCSE drama student and the stuff we do in class is really great but this is something a lot more public a lot more sustained if something that ultimately other people can enjoy as well so we have we have our friends come in to watch people come in and appreciate our work and think the costumes are lighting their rehearsals it's a lot bigger of a thing and I guess that just makes it more special than just doing work in a classroom you
