Sick Kids' Tips – Managing Extra-Curricular Activities

hi parents I'm here to talk about scheduling for your for your youngster as the fall season approaches this is a time when many of us will try to enroll our kids and any number of extracurricular programs available in our community and while these are exciting and wonderful opportunities and we're all anxious to make sure that we give our kids a chance to try just about everything I just want to give you some suggestions about making sure that you're not over scheduling your your youngster so you really want to think about you know out of a five day week how many evenings or afternoons do you want your child to be enrolled in something and and in trying to answer that you need to think about you know what do you think your child can actually cope with how much is going to be too much for your child and they're they're going to be completely exhausted because they're always on the run to to some class or program the second thing to consider is as a family what is actually going to work for you what what is your threshold how much can you manage in terms of juggling kids between you know perhaps childcare or school and other programs so think about what is is doable for you and the last thing is that to really think about what are the things that your child actually likes to do so you know if you have a child who's really really active and you've enrolled them in a program that requires them to sit quietly at a little table for a long period of time and then you're wondering why they're not happy participating you want to be paying attention to those kinds of things so is there a match between what you're enrolling your child in and the experience that they're they're actually having is it a good one or is it a bad one support Ontario's public television donate at TV org
