SPEAKER 1: You have so
many different advantages going to a midsize, nationally
recognized engineering school like Bradley. You have research
opportunities that you receive at a larger school. You have the career
opportunities from world-class companies
coming to hire students. And its students are
given the ability to interact with the
professors much more. SPEAKER 2: As far as
learning from day one, I think Bradley is kind
of setting itself apart from a lot of the other,
bigger universities. SPEAKER 3: When I was
looking for colleges, I wanted a mix between a big
college and a small college. And I think Bradley
was perfect for that. It has the big college
feel, because it has a ton of different
opportunities. SPEAKER 2: Bradley prides itself
on having its professors teach all the classes. And the class sizes
remain relatively small, even though it is a
midsize university. I think this is
extremely important. It's one of the main reasons
I came to Bradley University in the first place. SPEAKER 4: It's a
place where students get real hands-on
experience learning. Working in teams, working
with other people, to best prepare them
for a job after college. Getting hands-on
experience right away meant a lot to me as a freshman. That's actually part
of why I chose Bradley. I wasn't really interested in
sitting in lecture hall classes or doing all conceptual
work for a couple of years. I really wanted to hit
the ground running. You're starting in a lab,
working on real engineering skills, real things you'll
use in internships and jobs from day one. The senior project is,
essentially, companies will hire Bradley as
a consulting firm. So teams of four
senior engineers work for an outside company
and solve real world problems for them. SPEAKER 1: We're working with
an actual industry company who has approached our
department with a problem and they're trying
to find a solution. So we're essentially
consultants that have been given a
project or a problem. We're working on
proposals currently to develop a project
solution for them. SPEAKER 4: Taking the
concepts we learn in class, but also applying them to
real life in our lab settings, has really prepared
me for senior project, and other real
world applications, because it's not new. It's not the first time I'm
taking all this information and trying to apply it. I've been doing
it for four years. You kind of have to take all
the knowledge you learned, and all the skills you
learned of how to think, instead of what to
think, and kind of apply to these new areas of
real world problems. SPEAKER 1: When you
start to get involved, when you start to
have that leadership, or when you have different
people depending on you to get something done, you
immediately recognize the value of the work that you do. SPEAKER 3: I feel very well
prepared for the future. I feel Bradley gave me the
perfect experience with groups, with projects, also with a
knowledge base of my classes. SPEAKER 4: It's
definitely prepared me for my internships, for
my independent research, for the world after
college, better than I could have hoped for. SPEAKER 2: I think that
I'm truly lucky to be a student at Bradley. I had a lot of opportunities
to go to different colleges, and I know I've
chosen the right one. Because I've met so many
great professors and people that have helped me to succeed.
